The S-900D Mini OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) is a compact, 6-in-1 handheld fiber optic tester designed primarily for FTTX/FTTH network installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. It combines key functions into a single device to help technicians quickly locate faults and measure fiber performance.
Key Specifications

  • Wavelengths: Dual wavelength operation at 1310nm and 1550nm (optimized for G.652 single-mode fiber).
  • Testing Range: Measures fiber links from 3 meters up to 64 kilometers.
  • Dynamic Range: 24dB / 22dB with an optical power meter sensitivity range of -70 to +8dBm.
  • Display & Interface: Equipped with a 3.5-inch color TFT touch screen for intuitive navigation.
  • Portability: Exceptionally lightweight at approximately 0.43 kg and powered by a built-in 4000mAh battery.
  • Connector Types: Typically supports SC/UPC and FC/UPC optical interfaces.
Integrated 6-in-1 Functions

The device eliminates the need to carry separate field tools by integrating six essential network maintenance instruments:
  1. OTDR: Core Optical Time Domain Reflectometer for trace analysis and distance measurements.
  2. Event Map: A simplified, visual schematic representation of the fiber link that identifies splices, connectors, and faults without requiring complex trace interpretation.
  3. OPM (Optical Power Meter): For testing absolute signal power and network loss.
  4. VFL (Visual Fault Locator): Built-in red laser pointer to visually spot macrobends or breaks in patch cords near the patch panel.
  5. OLS (Optical Light Source): Generates stable laser signals at 1310/1550nm for end-to-end attenuation testing.
  6. Ethernet Cable Tester: Integrated RJ45 test port to verify copper network cables alongside fiber paths
